Global Innovative Cities

The Global Innovation Review assesses the innovation of cities in America, Europe & Asia.

The following are useful Resources for Councils and Municipal Government of the Cities:

> About the 2007 Global Innovation Review
A backgrounder for municipal/city government.

The 2thinknowTM Global Innovation Review, is an independent report using various frameworks to assess globally innovative cities.

The report's target audience is multinational firms and global knowledge-work citizens & creatives.

Those people who investing in cities, move to and work in cities, write about cities, create culture and arts within cities, travellers and executives who move globally between cities.

The report is the first report of it's kind to rank, assess and visit global cities in a truly comparative way, with a view to assessing their innovation ranking. The result is an Award for winning cities.

Below is for information on arranging the award for winning cities, should you choose to do so.

Report Purpose

The reports purpose is to list and provide details about the worlds innovative city and reward innovative cities.

In general this is the responsibility of government, business, citizenry and churches, amongst others.

Once released on May 1, global innovative cities rankings will be posted here.

The cities were assessed and ranked as at January 31st, 2007. The rankings are based on the Hire Innovation Loop as applied to cities.

Certificates for the City

The planned date for presentation of certificates to cities has been rescheduled to November 2007.

Printed and framed certificates for the Top 8 Most Globally innovative Cities are available, and will include the regional honours such as 'Americas innovation Winner' as well as other awards. These will be presented to each Council or Municipal body responsible for the city.

If you would like to organize a presentation or photo opportunity, please contact us here, and some time in June to August, the award can be arranged.

A complete list of Award winners is posted here.

Also, if you would like a logo to display your cities award-winning status on your website, or any other assistance at all, please contact us.

> 2008 Consideration of Innovative Cities

Even before the 2007 report was released, there have been substantive global events that will effect the 2008 rankings of innovative cities, and we have plans to visit additional cities in Europe, America & Asia.

If you would like to invite us to your city, please contact us here.

This of course cannot influence the results in any way, but as such results are comparative, viewing of cities is helpful in writing accurately in the report.

We of course cannot visit all cities globally every year.

Note: Some cities such as Shanghai have practical constraints on ranking in any case, and cannot win due to various restrictive laws or conversely a lack of regulation. However, cities that were assessed but not visited may benefit from a visit. Normally, we like to visit and observe a probable city discreetly.
