Executive Director
Christopher Hire is a published and quoted expert on innovation in cities, and creating urban and regional innovation economies.
He also works in analysis, data and change as an analyst or benchmarking for companies and government.
As Executive Director of 2thinknow, Hire has overseen the development of the Innovation Cities™ Program. As an innovation analyst created the original the HI Loop model, Innovation Development Lifecycle [IDLC] and Innovation Cities Framework indicator model that is the basis of the program. He is tasked with developing 2thinknow’s models and programs.
These are designed to create better socio-economic conditions for cities, regions and suburbs through creating multi-faceted communities centered around innovation clusters that address specific segments.
His work for economic and social innovation in cities has been written up in the Boston Globe, NY Times (Opinion), Reuters, Entrepreneur magazine, Fox Business, journals like Municipal World, tweeted by Richard Florida, and widely discussed in the blogosphere. Hire has provided professional services in a 15 year career to multi-nationals, listed and private corporations, and public sector: City Government, Australian Defence Dept, Parliament of Victoria, NSW/Victorian State Government, numerous listed and private corporations and Catholic Education. This has included data analysis, complex reporting, data presentation, innovative data design and training information managers in these areas.
Hire has a High Distinction in Marketing and Distinction in MMP (Micro-Economics) from Australia’s AGSM MBA Program. Previously he worked briefly as a designer, after studying arts and design as under-graduate, and believes in innovation. Hire lives in inner-city Melbourne, follows the Green Bay Packers, and time-permitting arts and cultural pursuits.
